In your personal experience, have you made, exceeded, or didn't even get close to what you've projected?
For a small online Only business, how do u make a "projected" monthly income?
I do not have an online business ONLY....but your projected sales or income is just an estimated amount of what you intend to sell/make in a year. As long as you do not overestimate your sales (especially if you are just starting and do not know how you will do) and factor in the costs needed for purchasing, advertising, and shipping, you should be very close if not higher than your projected amount. We have had a business for over 3 years now and have made a profit since the first year. This is rare in small business, could take up to 5 years to profit for some. It is hard to come up with a projected amount unless you have atleast a month of sales to go off of. If you have one month (or take your lowest monthly income)- just multiply it by 12 and subtract your costs.

that has been around for 21 Years and pays you to


advertise for them. My wife and I just started and are


doing well. It is not an MLM company and no selling,


no deliveries or stocking product. My wifes aunt has

Historical record. If you have made $1,000 per month plus or minus $200 and nothing much has changed you might use that.





Similar businesses.





Trend analysis. If your income has been growing steadily at 20% per year and you have no reason to believe that will not continue use that.





If all else fails you have to use assumptions (how many widgets can I sell, at what price, etc.). You may want to be more or less conservative depending on what purpose you are projecting income. If you're trying to figure out if you would starve if you left your day job to start a new business be very conservative.

Have you put yourself out there, made calls, create a web site and promote it, get business cards out there, offer discounts for first time buyers....
