What are considered passive online income for H-1B visa holder?

Dear all,

I am wondering is there any certain type of online income that can be considered as "passive" income for H-1B visa holder?(the only other source of income H-1B visa holder allowed to have is passive income)

Something that can generate around $600 per month (my salary is not enough to cover my family - I have cut everything up to the bone).

I was thinking something like Stock Photography or any other passive online income.

Or... did somebody know, can H-1B visa holder apply for "economy hardship" so that he/she can get a temporary, "flexible" working permit that can be used to perform any work for any company (I know that F-1 visa holder can do that)?

The company I work for doesn't allow me to ask this question to the company's immigration lawyer as they said that it will incure "unecessary" expenses.

I really appreciate any help/advice to solve my financial hardship.

Thanks a lot.

You have work authorization for one company only. The one that is listed on your paperwork
Reply:Only something illegal and under the table like selling drugs or porn.
Reply:you can always find another company to sponsor your 2nd H1b (PART-TIME) as long as it doesn't violate the policy of your current sponsored company and your primary H1b status. H1b holders have 2 H1b visas.

OR

you can look for higher paid job with another employer to sponsor your H1b visa.

i haven't heard of any "economic hardship employment authorization" or similar type of flexible work authorization that allow h1b holders to get additional income without violate their status.

good luck.
