How can I file an IRS income tax extension for myself and for my business (corporation)? Can I do it online?

I heard that I can get more time to do my corporate taxes... they're due tomorrow. Help!
How can I file an IRS income tax extension for myself and for my business (corporation)? Can I do it online?
you need form 4868 - personal and form 7004 - business. You can get them online, print and fill out then mail tomorrow. Are you subject to state income taxes? You will need to file extensions with your state too if you are. Get thoses extensions on your state's web site. Or you can also find any tax preparation office that is open today who will most likely have the forms available for a small fee.

Can get them at IRS web site:

Reply:Yes you can efile extension for your personal and business tax returns. Efile that extension today or tomorrow or print it out from the irs.gov website and make sure it is post marked tomorrow. If mailing it, always use registered mail with a signature and keep that information in a safe place, or attach it to the extension form. The IRS looses their stuff all the time. The extension to file your personal taxes is due on April 15.

One very important thing to remember when filing extensions. Filing an extension means that you are asking the IRS and your State to accept your reporting of your taxes at a later date. This request is not for paying your taxes if you owe Federal and State taxes. If you owe taxes, it must be paid when you file your extension as it is reported on the extension form as you will see. For corporate taxes, that date is March 16, and personal April 15. There is no extension for paying the taxes. Pay the taxes late and you will incur interest and penalties. If you need help please contact me. My office is opened today.
Reply:you should be able to find an extension form on irs.gov web site.
Reply:Good answers above on what forms to file, things to remember, etc.

If you want to file both online, there's only one website I know of that does both personal and business extensions. It's called filelater.com (http://www.filelater.com).

They key advantage to submitting extensions online is that you get a confirmation from the IRS. If you do it by mail, you never know if your extension was received/approved. Then you risk penalties.

Besides, everything these days is moving online. This is just another example of taking a form and making it simple to do. 5 minutes and you're done.
