Just filled out my state income tax online, must have made a mistake somewhere?

It says I owe $523, but last year, with the same job, no changes in my tax withholding form or wages, I received a refund for over $200. I haven't authorized it yet, does anybody know where I could have filled in wrong to make it show such a big change?

Did you get a pay raise or make more money that may have pushed you into another tax bracket? Did you remember to take all of your personal deductions? Did your state up its tax rate? If you have last years tax paperwork, I would get that out and go line by line and double check and see if you are missing anything. If you can't find it, then I would suggest taking it to a tax preparer.
Reply:The Poor get poorer!

The Rich get Richer!

"WE" middle class, will always pay!

Makes "U" want to something, "illegal", on the side!

Doesn't it?
Reply:Go back and double check everything. If your result still doesnt change, then speak to a professional.

Also, try to think of anything that makes this year different. Are you filing together with a spouse? Did their job change?
Reply:Lay last years and this years side by side, and see what changed a lot.
