If I filed my taxes online and then had to file an amended tax form, how will my income tax come back to me?

I messed up filing it online so I had to file an amended form and mail it in. So the IRS corrected it and sent it back to me listing what I had done wrong. Also, I used direct deposit along with the online filing.

If your original filing was with a refund to be direct deposited and an amended return results in a larger refund to you then the additional funds will be sent to you as direct deposit. The initial refund amount should have been transmitted to your bank.
Reply:Once an amended return is involved, refunds cannot be paid by direct deposit. Your refund from the amended return (if any) will be by paper check, and so your rebate will probably also come the same way -- about 6 weeks later.
Reply:I had to do a 1040x also and it took a good 10-12 weeks to get a check.. on my Tax Refund.. My 1st refund was by DD but 1040X are by check only!!
